Occupational Health Surveillance - Northern Ireland

Occupational health surveillance gives an early indication of onset of occupational ill health allowing corrective action to be taken before it can develop into a long term of significant problem. There are specific requirements for surveillance in topic based legislation and also in the more general legislation about substances hazardous to health. In effect routine surveillance is required wherever it will identify the onset of occupational ill-health.
